[EVENT] Gifted Gown Homecoming

Posted on

You’ve probably heard me talk all about the Gifted Gown before–or maybe have read my blog post from its 2016 prom event. It’s a 501c3 nonprofit (run by the amazing Julia Rutland) with the sole purpose of empowering others through gifted new and gently used formalwear, because no one should miss out on coming-of-age memories due to financial limitations.

(By the way, when I say “new formalwear,” I mean “new-with-tags dresses that cost almost as much as my wedding ceremony gown.” Many of these pieces are exquisite, and just waiting for the right teenagers to take them home.)This Saturday, Julia and her team of volunteers will help style high school students for their homecoming dances, and each student will head home with a dress or suit, pair of formal shoes, an accessory and garment dry cleaning services for free–no questions asked. How amazing is that?

Event: A Gifted Gown Homecoming
When: Saturday, Sept. 9, 12-3 p.m.
Where: 3125 E. 10th St., Suite K, Indy 46201

Interested? Take a look at my photos below of just a few of the hundreds (no, really, HUNDREDS) of free formalwear items from this past spring’s pop-up prom event, then learn more on the Gifted Gown’s website, including how to register for Saturday’s event and how to donate and volunteer for future events.
